There is a growing trend amongst the design and craft world, this trend is using online free media to promote a business or artist. I personally use Facebook and have found it to be very effective in reaching new audiences and getting feed back from the public. One of the main things I enjoy about using web based free medias such as Facebook is the ability to “share” yours or another page, this means the page becomes visible to people that otherwise would not have scene your page.
The main reason I choose to use Facebook to share my work is because of its “insights” section this shows you which of your posts (or images) have had the most impact on people. Another reason to use Facebook for advertising and business is that there are recommended people to “add”, I have found that after communicating with a few people associated with the art industry almost everyday there are a handful of people also in the arts and crafts industry following my page.
Here is a helpful guide to getting the most out of Facebook as an marketing tool.

ReplyDeleteI, too, agree with using social media websites to connect with other people, whether they are potential customers or potential partners. Since social media has a worldwide reach, there are so many people who can become aware of what you’re doing, which can only spell good things for your business.

Using social media is one of the cheapest ways to promote your business online. And, of course, Facebook, being on the top list with 800 million users, is most probably your best bet when choosing which social media platform to use.
